Yes. The Chrome extension is free to install. Optional OpenAI or Gemini usage requires your own provider API key and may create charges from that provider under its terms.
Which stores does RETA search?
RETA’s main search supports Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Costco, eBay and ProtoClinical. The Compare with RETA page pill currently appears on the first six of those retailer sites.
Does RETA buy or check out for me?
No. RETA helps you search and compare, then opens the live retailer listing. You sign in and complete payment directly with the retailer.
Where is my Watchlist and order history stored?
They are stored locally through Chrome storage on your machine. RETA does not require a RETA account or upload that shopping history to a RETA server.
How does RETA know delivery timing?
It shows delivery or pickup text returned by the retailer in your browsing session. When the retailer does not provide usable delivery text, RETA shows no ETA rather than inventing one.
Will Price Watch always get a fresh price?
No browser extension can guarantee that. Retailers can show login walls, bot checks or change page layouts. RETA labels failed checks as stale and encourages you to verify the live listing.
Do I need AI to use RETA?
No. Search, comparison, delivery chips, local order history, Price Watch and local Top Picks work without sending a request to OpenAI or Gemini.
What is shared when I turn optional AI on?
RETA sends the active search or conversation and facts from up to 24 visible product cards to the provider you select. It does not include retailer cookies, passwords, checkout data or the retailer page HTML.
Should I verify the result before buying?
Yes. Prices, coupons, inventory, variants and delivery can change. Always confirm the exact item and final terms on the retailer’s live page.
